Iceland is an island and a country located in the North of the Atlantic Ocean.

The island is in fact the worlds eighteenth largest island, and second largest in Europe. Its neighboring countries are Greenland, Norway, and Scotland.

The main reason thousand's of tourists travel to Iceland every years, has to be connected with the country`s dramatic nature. The nature on the island is full of contrasts, which will give any nature loving person a great experience. Above ten percent of the island is covered with glaciers. Then there are lots of active volcanoes, rivers, waterfalls, and forests. Out on the countryside and in the small villages by the coast, can you get the feeling of a simple and maybe a bit primitive way of life. The houses here are often made out of concrete, and painted in strong colors. They are certainly not drawn by famous architects. But this feeling of simple ness can be quite an experience for many. Not many know that the island of Iceland is growing.

The country is in constant movement between the European, and the American tectonic plates, and every year it increases with 1-2 cm. This leads to the many earthquakes, and volcano outbreaks. Also there are few that know that one of the biggest lakes in Iceland, is about to disappear, because a earthquake made cracks at the bottom of the sea for about five years ago.

It is no doubt that the nature is an exiting attraction, but the same is the culture, and the modern city life. The capital Reykjavik has in the past decades been the center of attention internationally, because of what has come out of Iceland's culture. With the success of the singer "Björk" people really started to notice that things were happening on this little island. Also creative art, fashion and design is getting more and more attention and recognition.

The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland`s biggest attractions, and the location of Blue Lagoon Iceland is just a bit south from the capital Reykjavik. As can be seen on the picture above, it is very popular thru every season. This because the water is always warm, with temperature that reach an average of 40 °C (104 °F). The Blue Lagoon is also the perfect place to treat skin diseases like psoriasis, because the water contains many unique and active ingredients that have a positive effect on the skin. In general this geothermal spa complex is where you want to be if you want to relax and enjoy life.
